In August 2021, a National Human Resources for Health Registry was introduced in Romania. The registry will be organised as an electronic platform to provide data necessary for the development of human resources for health policies. The Registry is owned by the state and will be administered by the Ministry of Health. Apart from utilising the data in the registry for informing its health workforce policies, the Ministry of Health will be able to provide it to medical institutions upon request.
This initiative has reinforced the importance of effective human resources policies within the health sector and represents a step forward for the Romanian healthcare system in complying with evidence-informed policymaking.
